Perinatal Mental Health Support

Compassionate Mental Health Care During Pregnancy & Beyond

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the transition into parenthood can bring tremendous joy—but they can also bring unexpected emotional challenges. At Pediatric Associates of Norwood & Franklin, in collaboration with Norwood Behavioral Health, we are committed to supporting the mental health of expecting and new parents through every stage of the perinatal journey.

Whether you're planning a pregnancy, expecting a baby, adjusting to life with a newborn, or navigating the emotional changes of the first year after birth, you don't have to go through it alone.

Our integrated behavioral health program provides specialized, compassionate care in a confidential and supportive environment.

When Should I Seek Help?

It is normal to experience emotional ups and downs during pregnancy and after delivery. However, if symptoms last more than two weeks or interfere with daily life, support can make a meaningful difference.

You may benefit from speaking with a mental health professional if you are experiencing:

  • Persistent sadness

  • Excessive worry

  • Feeling overwhelmed

  • Difficulty bonding with your baby

  • Changes in sleep beyond typical newborn patterns

  • Panic attacks

  • Constant guilt

  • Loss of interest in activities

  • Feeling disconnected

  • Irritability or anger

  • Intrusive or frightening thoughts

Seeking help is a sign of strength—not weakness.
