Franklin Flu Clinics

Norwood Flu Clinics

The doctors, nurse practitioners and the entire staff at PANF strongly recommended that everyone age 6 months and older get a flu vaccine each year.

The flu vaccine we administer is the Quadrivalent vaccine that contains both the Seasonal Flu and H1N1 Flu, combined into one vaccine.  All the vaccine we are administering are Thimerosal Free.

Parents & Caretakers

As a convenience to our patient’s families, we will be offering the Flu Vaccine to parents and caretakers of our patients in our flu clinics. The cost for vaccination is $30.00

Flu Booster Vaccine

Some children 6 months through 8 years of age require two doses of influenza vaccine. Children 6 months through 8 years that are being vaccinated against the flu for the first time, and those who have only previously only gotten one dose of flu vaccine, should get two doses of vaccine this season, given a minimum of at least 30 days apart. All children who have previously gotten two doses of vaccine (at any time) only need one dose of vaccine this season.

Health Alert - EEE

EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) is a rare but dangerous disease spread by mosquitos infected with the EEE virus.   The first symptoms of EEE are fever (often 103º to 106ºF), stiff neck, headache, and lack of energy.

Since the virus that causes EEE is spread by mosquitoes, here are some things you can do to reduce your chances of being bitten:

  • Schedule outdoor events to avoid the hours between dusk and dawn, when mosquitoes are most active.

  • When you are outdoors, wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and socks. This may be difficult to do when the weather is hot, but it will help keep mosquitoes away from your skin.

  • Use a repellent with DEET (N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide), permethrin, picaridin (KBR 3023), IR3535 (3-[N-butyl-N-acetyl]-aminopropionic acid) or oil of lemon eucalyptus [p-Menthane 3, 8-diol (PMD)] according to the instructions given on the product label. DEET products should not be used on infants under two months of age and should be used in concentrations of 30% or less on older children. Oil of lemon eucalyptus should not be used on children under three years of age. Permethrin products are intended for use on items such as clothing, shoes, bed nets and camping gear and should not be applied to skin.

Health Alert - Measles

Measles, a potentially serious, and highly contagious viral illness, once considered eradicated from the US, is making a comeback.  Low vaccination rates in some communities has allowed the return and spread of measles in the US.  Making sure your child is fully vaccinated, on schedule, is more important now than ever.   For more information about measles, click here.
