PANF Response to COVID-19
The doctors, nurse practitioners, and entire staff at Pediatric Associates of Norwood and Franklin (PANF) has been following the rapidly evolving COVID-19 public health crisis. Ensuring the health of your children and families are our first priority. To do this, we will follow the guidance of federal and local public health officials. Please keep in mind this is a rapidly evolving situation and recommendations are changing daily.
Additionally, we are making significant changes in our triage procedures and appointment scheduling that will go into effect on Monday March 16 in both our Norwood and Franklin offices.
ALL WELL CHECK-UPS ARE BEING CANCELLED AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU TO RESCHEDULE IN THE FUTURE.
WE ARE SUSPENDING ON-LINE BOOKING USING SIGN-UP GENIUS AND CANCELLING AM WALK-IN CLINICS. ALL SICK APPOINTMENTS MUST BE MADE OVER THE PHONE SO THEY CAN BE TRIAGED. MOST CALLS REGARDING SICK CHILDREN WILL BE CALLED BACK BY A PHYSICIAN OR NP AND GIVEN ADVICE OR TREATED OVER THE PHONE.
YOU MAY BE ASKED TO WAIT IN YOUR CAR UNTIL THE DOCTOR/NP IS READY, AND THEN CALLED. ALL SICK PATIENTS WILL BE GIVEN A MASK AND MUST WEAR THE MASK AT ALL TIMES.
THE OFFICE WILL BE CLEANED AND DISINFECTED THROUGHOUT EACH DAY AND A MORE THOROUGH CLEANING WILL BE DONE EACH NIGHT.
EVENING HOURS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
PLEASE HAVE ONLY ONE ADULT ACCOMPANY EACH SICK CHILD TO LIMIT EVERYONES EXPOSURE
We know these are confusing times for all of us, and recommendations for evaluation and testing are changing daily (even hourly). Currently, public health experts in Massachusetts are recommending that community pediatric offices (like PANF) NOT per form intranasal (nose) or oropharyngeal (throat) testing for COVID-19, Influenza, or Strep. Treatment decisions for influenza and strep throat will be determined based on symptoms and/or physical exam. There is currently NO MEDICINE or VACCINE for COVID-19.
We will be sending updates regularly. Please keep informed from reputable information sites:
STAY SAFE AND HUNKER DOWN AT HOME!!!!

Lactation Consulting Now Available at PANF
Breast milk is considered the optimal nutrition for infants in the first year of life. Sometimes, making breastfeeding successful for both the infant and the mother is difficult. A international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) can help ease the process. PANF is excited to announce that our terrific nurse practioner, Pam Bajada NP IBCLC , is now a certified lactation consultant. Pam is available for lactation consulting to all nursing mothers or mothers who plan to nurse. Call the office or ask your doctor about it at your baby’s next check up.
